Operations Director of the Kumasi Central Market Traders Association, Mr. Michael Fosu has stated that, all is set for the relocation of the Central Market traders.
Traders at the Central Market for the past few weeks lambasted the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly and the Contractor for evicting them without giving any notice.
These traders have mounted series of demonstrations to express their anger towards the authorities.
Some of the traders even threatened to embark on a naked demonstration if their concerns are not considered by the authorities.
Mr. Michael Fosu speaking to Silver fm’s reporter, Akwadaa Nyame said, they had visited some satellite markets in the region to pave way for the relocation of the traders.
According to him, traders who trade in second hand cloths and traders in lockable shops will be relocated to Abinkyi market while traders who ply in food stuffs have been relocated to Race Course market.
He added that, various leaders of the respected Associations in the market will visit the place to ascertain whether they can ply their goods there.
He urged all traders to have patience with the authorities as they are doing everything for the well being of the traders.
