COVID-19 VACCINES- ONLY PEOPLE WITH ID CARDS WILL BE VACCINATED-DR. NSIAH ASARE

Presidential Advisor on Health, Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare has revealed that, anyone who will be vaccinated will have to bring along their National Identification Card.

According to him, they can bring along their Ghana Card, Voter’s ID Card, Passport, Drivers License before been allowed to be vaccinated.

He added that, this exercise will help trace anybody who will be vaccinated.

Ghana is to begin Covid-19 vaccination on March 2 as government takes delivery of 600,000 AstraZeneca doses today.

The Information Minister-designate, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine was made by the Serum Institute of India (Covishield).

“This is the first consignment of vaccines acquired through the COVID-19 Vaccine Global Access Facility (COVAX) which Ghana, among 92 countries, has signed unto.

“Covid-19 vaccination will be conducted in phases among segmented populations.

According to him, “the first segment of the population that will receive from the 600,000 doses will be health workers, adults 60 years and over, people with underlying health conditions, frontline executive, legislature, judiciary and their related staff, frontline security personnel, some religious leaders, essential workers and teachers.”

 Dr. Nsiah Asare added that, the arrival of the vaccine will help curtail the virus in the country.

“I entreat everybody to make their self available to be vaccinated and remove the fear of having any side effect after been vaccinated”, he said in an interview with Kumasi base Oyerepa fm monitored by Africannewsgh
