COVID-19-KSI RESIDENTS URGE GOVERNMENT TO CLAMP DOWN ON STREET BEGGARS

Some residents within the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has urged government to as a matter of urgency clamp down on street beggars mostly children in the region.

Speaking to Africannewsgh reporter, Nana Frimpong said, these children between the ages of five (5) to fifteen are seen using maximum force to collect money from them.

According to them, their actions can increase the number of covid-19 in the country.

They added that, these children can touch a lot people without knowing their covid-19 status.

Streets beggars

They urged the government to find a better place for them to stay to curtail the number of covid-19 cases in the country.
They revealed that, these some of these children are unclean and sometimes makes their cloth dirty whenever they touch them.

Some children from West and Central African countries have invaded the streets of Kumasi, begging for alms to feed themselves and their families.

Some even pretend to be sick, preying on the emotions of unsuspecting members of the public in order to get their daily bread.

These children ply their trade at various spots in the city, such the entrance to the newly built Kejetia Terminal, Kumasi Zoo, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi Cultural Center and other vintage points.
