The National Chairman of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), Nana Nimako Bresiama has stated that, under no circumstance would any Drivers Union increase transport fares without the approval from the higher authorities.

According to the group, they are forced to make the adjustment as a result of the increment of some taxes at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) and the ports.

Meanwhile, in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, the National Drivers Association has charged drivers to ensure passengers put on a nose mask before they are allowed to board their vehicles.

Nana Nimako added that, Drivers alone cannot decide to increase transport fares.
