Special Advisor to the President on Health, Dr. Anthony NSIAH Asare has stated that, it has become necessary for the government to banned funerals, weddings, concerts and parties to help curb the spread of the virus.
According to him, we are at war with an invisible virus hence the need for us to come out victorious.
“Families can do private burials as well as wedding ceremonies with not more than twenty five people as been directed by the President”,he said in an interview with Nana Ampratwum on Silver fm Omanbapa morning show monitored by Africannewsgh.
President Akufo Addo has reintroduced restrictions on funerals, weddings, concerts, theatrical performances and parties until further notice.
In his 23rd coronavirus address to the nation on Sunday, January 31,the President indicates that, private burials with no more than twenty-five people can take place, with the enforcement of social distancing, hygiene and mask -wearing protocols.
“Beaches, night clubs, cinemas and pubs continue to be shut. Our borders by land and sea remain closed”, he stressed.
Akufo Addo explained that, even though these measures were unpleasant, it over a period, resulted in a favourable situation for the country’s fight against.
Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare advised the general public to adhere to all protocols to help curb the virus.
He urged pastors and leaders to make sure they adhere to the protocols.
